Local correspondent :: Kamrun Nahar, wife of Heath Secretary Abdul Mannan, died of coronavirus early Sunday.
She breathed her last at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka in the early hours, said Dr Ayesha Akter, assistant director of the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
Kamrun Nahar left behind husband, two sons and one daughter to mourn her death, she said.
Dr Ayesha said the health secretary’s wife was admitted to the hospital on June 10 after she was diagnosed with coronavirus.
Abdul Mannan, who was serving as the chairman of Land Reforms Board, replaced Health Secretary Asadul Islam on June 4 last only.
